Gabriel Hull Cards 66, Kentucky Shoots Even Par to Close Out Visit Knox Collegiate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Sophomore Gabriel Hull finished off his first tournament as a Wildcat with a final round 66 (-4) to help Kentucky men’s golf post even par as a team on Tuesday in the final round of the Visit Knox Collegiate at Fox Den Country Club (par 70, 6962 yards).

Kentucky jumped two spots on the leaderboard to finish in 15th place at 12-over par total in the squad’s first event of the 2026-27 season.

“It wasn’t our best performance this week but we learned a lot about our group,” head coach Gator Todd said. “I love the first tournament of the year because it shows you where your team is. This is a long season and yesterday was a tough day, but our guys showed some resilience and bounced back to beat some teams today.”

Cole Stockard, who carded his third consecutive round of 69 (-1) on Tuesday, was UK’s top finisher on the week, placing T13 in the 96-player field. It marked the fifth top-20 finish for the sophomore on his collegiate career in just 12 total events. He also now boasts 20 rounds at par-or-better as a Wildcat across 35 total rounds played. Stockard led Kentucky with 11 birdies in the tournament, including four during the final round. He was 3-under par on the par 3s for the week, tying him for the best mark of any player in the field.

“Cole was incredibly consistent all week and hit some big time iron shots when he needed to,” Todd said.

Hull, a transfer from Emmanuel University, dazzled in round three with a sensational start and finish to his day. The native of South Daytona, Florida began the round with an eagle on No. 10, (par 5, 561 yards) his first hole of the morning, before concluding his outing with birdies on four of his final five holes. Hull’s 4-under day tied for the fourth best round in the field on Tuesday and was the lowest score by a UK player for the tournament. He climbed 28 places on the leaderboard to finish T52 at 4-over par total.

“Gabe showed today what he is capable of,” Todd said. “He has a big time game and it’s just a matter of time before he gets comfortable at this level.”

Gavin Clutts joined Hull by finishing T52 in his season debut following his final round of 72 (+2). Clutts had 42 pars over 54 holes, tied for the second most pars in the field. He was a counting score for the team in all three rounds.

“Gavin didn’t have his best stuff but he hung in there and fought his tail off,” Todd said. “I couldn’t be prouder of his toughness.”

Jacob Lang had his best round of the tournament with a 73 (+3) on Tuesday to provide the fourth counting score for the Wildcats. Jacob Settles signed for a 74 (+4), while Luke Coyle, competing as an individual, posted a 72 (+2). Coyle collected a T74 finish while Settles was T79 and Lang T91.

The hosts, Tennessee, took home the team title, finishing 15-under par. Chattanooga’s Evan Rogers was the individual champion at 10-under.

Next up for Kentucky is the Bearcat Invitational, Sept. 14-15 at Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati, Ohio.
