Tyler Nickol Named Men’s Golf Assistant Coach

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s golf head coach Gator Todd announced on Tuesday that Tyler Nickol will join the program as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026-27 season.

“We’re excited to add Tyler Nickol to our coaching staff,” Todd said. “He’s a high character guy who fits in great with our program.”

Nickol arrives in Lexington having spent the 2025-26 season at Bowling Green State University, where he was an assistant to both the men’s and women’s golf programs.

“I’m excited to join Kentucky and build on what this team accomplished last season,” Nickol said. “I want to thank Coach Todd and Coach McDaniel for the incredible opportunity to be a part of the program and the culture they continue to build. I’m looking forward to having everyone back on campus so we can get to work.”

During his season at BGSU, Nickol helped coach both the men’s and women’s teams to third place finishes at the Mid-American Conference Championship. The women’s squad won both the A-Ga-Ming Invitational and the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, while the men were runners-up at the Sweetens Cover Intercollegiate.

Nickol played collegiate golf at Kentucky Wesleyan College from 2020 to 2024. He recorded three collegiate victories and was the 2024 Great Midwest Conference Champion as an individual.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in May of 2024, Nickol went on to work as an Assistant Golf Professional at Ulen Country Club in Lebanon, Indiana prior to transitioning into collegiate coaching.
