Women’s Golf’s Raleygh Simpson Named to SEC Community Service Team
LEXINGTON, Ky. – University of Kentucky women’s golfer Raleygh Simpson has been named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, it was announced by the league office Wednesday.
In two short years in the Bluegrass, the sophomore has already combined for more than 80 hours of community service. That includes 27 hours in 2025-26.
During the season, Simpson spent regular time with the Lexington Humane Society, the Kentucky Children’s Hospital and God’s Pantry. With those organizations, she did everything from playing with animals and making sure their living spaces were clean and food and water bowls were full, to hanging out with children and surprising them with gifts, to packing meals for underprivileged families.
The Kerrville, Texas, native also passed out medals at Girls on the Run, collected bottle tops and helped run the PopTabPalooza for the Ronald McDonald House, and helped load dozens of boxes of food and supplies into a moving truck for The Nest.
Simpson is coming off a year of tremendous growth, recording a 74.2 stroke average in 2025-26. Remarkably, she had a 76.6 stroke average through her first 16 rounds of the season and then came up with a 72.4 stroke average across her last 15 rounds of the season. From those final 15 rounds, she produced a career-best, 18-hole round (68, -4) and a career-best, 54-hole total (217, +1). She also earned four finishes in the top 20, including two finishes in the top 10.
Moreover, her last 20 straight rounds contributed toward the Wildcats’ team total.
In the NCAA Tallahassee Regional final round in mid-May, Simpson holed out from 143 yards for an eagle on the 18th green, the precise shot her team needed to jump inside the cut line and punch a ticket to the NCAA Championship. There, at the final site, she led her team on a 2-over-par 218.
