Kentucky Women’s Basketball Signs 6-4 Me’Arah O’Neal
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program inked a 6-4 forward to its incoming class in Me’Arah O’Neal, head coach Kenny Brooks announced Wednesday. She will join the program as a junior in 2026-27.
“We are thrilled to announce the addition of Me’Arah to our team,” Brooks said. “Meezy is a talented forward with guard skills and she will fit into our system very nicely. Her SEC experience will also be beneficial for us as we embark on a challenging season. She comes from a basketball family and we are looking forward to her arrival to BBN.”

Me’Arah O’Neal, a 6-4 forward from Houston, Texas, played the last two seasons at Florida. In 68 games and 41 starts in The Swamp, she combined for 615 points, 347 rebounds, 67 blocks, 59 steals and 54 assists.
Last season, she played and started all 33 games, averaging 13.6 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, which ranked 17th in the Southeastern Conference, 1.4 blocks per game, which was sixth in the SEC, 1.36 steals per game and 1.1 assists per game. She averaged 52.9 percent shooting from the field and 38.1 percent shooting from the arc on 37 3s. She also went to the line 155 times, averaging 74.2 percent shooting there, which ranked 15th in the SEC.
She made 10+ points in 23 games and 20+ points in six games. She also had 10+ rebounds in seven games, assembling seven double-doubles on the season, including her first three games of 2025-26.
O’Neal was named the SEC co-Player of the Week on Dec. 30, 2025, after stuffing the stats in a win over Furman. She put up 22 points, seven rebounds, four assists, four blocks and three steals.
Prior to her college career, O’Neal was the No. 33-ranked prospect in the nation in the Class of 2024, according to ESPN. She was a 2025 McDonald’ All-Americana dn invited to played in the 2024 Jordan Brand Classic. She led Episcopal High School to the Southwest Preparatory Conference Class 4A Girls’ State Basketball title.
