Milan Momcilovic, Nation’s Leading 3-Point Shooter, Signs with Wildcats
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s basketball has made a significant add late in the transfer portal cycle, officially signing Milan Momcilovic (MEE-lun Mome-CHILL-uh-veech), who led the country in 3-point shooting last season, on Friday.
Momcilovic, a 6-foot-8 forward, played the last three years at Iowa State. He is rated as the No. 1 transfer this offseason by ESPN, No. 2 by 247Sports and No. 3 by On3.
As a junior last season, Momcilovic led the team in scoring with 16.9 points per game, finishing the season with a 50.6 percent field-goal clip. He shot 48.7 percent from 3-point range and made 136 3s, the most in Iowa State program history for a single season. Momcilovic was the Cyclones’ leading scorer 16 times as a junior and had 15 games with 20 or more points and 23 games with three or more made 3s. He made eight 3s in four separate games during the 2025-26 campaign, including on the road at Cincinnati in January when he broke out for a career-high 34 points.
He had several notable performances against ranked opponents during the 2025-26 year, including 23 points in a win over No. 14 St. John’s, 20 points in an upset at No. 1 Purdue and 28 points and eight made 3s in the Big 12 Tournament semifinals against No. 2 Arizona.
Momcilovic averaged double figures in each of his first three collegiate seasons. For his career, he averages 13.3 points per game and 3.2 rebounds while shooting 42.9 percent from 3-point range and a stellar 84.5 percent from the free-throw line. Momcilovic has made continued strides throughout his college career, increasing his scoring, field-goal percentage, 3-point percentage and free-throw percentage every season during his three years.
Momcilovic was an All-Big 12 Second Team selection in 2026, a Big 12 All-Tournament Team pick in both 2024 and 2026 and a Big 12 All-Freshman Team honoree in 2024. He won the 2024 Big 12 Tournament with the Cyclones, scoring 18 points in the final against Houston.
While at Iowa State, Momcilovic reached the NCAA Tournament in all three seasons he played and made two trips to the Sweet 16. In eight NCAA Tournament games, Momcilovic averaged 12.3 points and had two games with 20 points scored, including last season against Kentucky in the second round. The Cyclones won 83 total games with Momcilovic and were no worse than a No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
After testing the waters in the NBA draft process, Momcilovic ultimately removed his name prior to the deadline on May 27. He marks the sixth transfer to sign with the Wildcats this offseason, joining five returners and three newcomers to college basketball on the 2025-26 roster.
Momcilovic attended Pewaukee High School in Pewaukee, Wisconsin, leading his team to three straight state championships. He averaged 23.4 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as a senior in high school and was a 2,000-point scorer. Momcilovic played on the Nike EYBL circuit for Team Herro and was a consensus four-star recruit by Rivals, ESPN and 247Sports.
