Junior Golfer, Kentucky Native Cathryn Brown Crowned All-SEC Second Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Cathryn Brown, University of Kentucky women’s golfer, has been named to the All-Southeastern Conference Second Team, it was announced by the league Friday.

It is Brown’s first All-SEC selection of her college career.

The junior from Eddyville, Kentucky, who is ranked 47th in the nation and 19th in a highly competitive Southeastern Conference, boasts a 71.8 stroke average through 11 events and 31 rounds in 2025-26.

She has collected two individual championships, three finishes in the top three, six finishes in the top 10 and eight finishes in the top 20 this season. She has done all that while also preserving an impressive streak of 35 consecutive rounds contributed to the team total, a stretch that began last spring.

Not surprising, the junior turned in the best round of her college career this season, which also tied as the second-best, 18-hole round in program history, with her 64 (-8) at The Johnie Imes Invitational in September. In fact, she has turned in a team-lead seven rounds in the 60s, 14 rounds below par and 17 rounds par-or-better this season.

The Wildcat is playing some of her best golf right now, too, putting together a par-or-better tournament total in three of her last four events, while all four of those events resulted in individual finishes inside the top 16.

She has led Kentucky in five of 11 tournaments this season, including four tournaments this spring.

Brown’s brother, Cullan, who was on the UK men’s golf team, was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team in 2019.
