FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Kentucky men’s golf opened the Mason Rudolph Championship with a 291 (+7) team score on Friday to stand tied for 11th place through 18 holes of play at Vanderbilt Legends Club (par 71, 7112 yards).
Freshman Cole Stockard is tied for fifth individually after shooting Kentucky’s low round of the day, a 2-under par, 69. Stockard etched four birdies on his scorecard to help record his 12th round under par this season, the most by any Wildcat.
Joining his classmate, Cameron Phillips turned in a 1-under effort of 70, putting the Portsmouth, Ohio native in a tie for 14th after round one. Phillips, who is playing as an individual this week, was powered by a bogey-free, 2-under par, back nine.
