Kentucky Football Names Erynn Love Director of Recruiting
University of Kentucky head coach Will Stein has announced the hiring of Erynn Love as the new director of recruiting. She will work closely with the director of player personnel Jerrett McElwain and be responsible for all aspects of football recruiting.
“We are excited to welcome Erynn to Kentucky,” Stein said. “She is exactly what we’re looking for in this role. She is smart, energetic and a natural fit for the culture we’re building. She brings a relentless, proactive approach to recruiting and has a genuine passion for connecting with people. That ability shows in the relationships she builds with prospects and their families. We’re excited about the vision and energy she brings to our program.”
Love brings a strong background in recruiting operations, event coordination and prospect engagement to the Bluegrass.
She recently worked with the Tulsa football program, serving as the director of on-campus recruiting in 2025. She was a key contributor in the implementation of the innovative “Portal House,” a centralized recruiting hub during the NCAA transfer portal window. The rented space functioned as an all-in-one operation for prospect evaluation, recruiting coordination and on-site hosting, allowing staff to streamline communication and enhance the overall visit experience.
Because of her efforts, Tulsa’s 2026 recruiting class saw measurable improvement from the previous year, rising approximately 30 spots and finishing among the top 80 classes nationally.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to return to the SEC and join the Kentucky program,” Love said. “This league sets the standard in college football, and to be back competing at this level means a lot to me. Kentucky is building something special, and I’m excited to be part of a culture that prioritizes relationships, development and winning. I can’t wait to get to work.”
At Tulsa, she also oversaw recruiting budgets and expenses and coordinated all on-campus recruiting logistics and communication. Additionally, she supervised recruiting and personnel pathways for students and played a key role in gameday recruiting operations.
During the 2024 season, she served in the same role at North Carolina, where she was responsible for organizing official and unofficial visits, coordinating gameday recruiting logistics, and managing communication between recruiting staff and support personnel. She also supervised interns and game-day assistants, while assisting with creative recruiting initiatives, including photoshoots and graphics.
With her assistance, the Tarheels’ 2025 recruiting class ranked among the top 30 nationally according to 247Sports Composite, while their transfer class was No. 9 by 247Sports.
Love began her career in recruiting at her alma mater Tennessee, serving as a recruiting analyst for the Volunteers from March 2023 to August 2024. In that role, she supported recruiting operations for position coaches, coordinated on-campus visits and events, and built relationships with prospects and their families. She also contributed to creative direction for recruiting materials and assisted with daily logistics, including vendor coordination and event setup.
The Knoxville, Tennessee, native graduated from UT in 2022 with a degree in communication and a minor in retail and consumer science.
