Kentucky STUNT Tops St. Edward’s, Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday

SAN ANTONIO – The Kentucky STUNT team earned a pair of victories on Saturday, including the program’s eighth perfect game. The Cats blanked St. Edward’s 24-0 in the first game of the day, then completed the doubleheader sweep with a 26-2 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Kentucky (12-2) opened the day by facing St. Edward’s University. The Cats dominated from start to finish, winning all four points in quarter one, partner stunts, and quarter two, pyramids and tosses. UK led 8-0 at the half.

Quarter three, jumps and tumbling, saw Kentucky win four more points. The Cats took a 12-0 lead into the final period. In that final stanza, team routine, UK won all 12 available points to finish off the 10th perfect game, including the eighth full perfect game (24-point game), in program history.

The Cats started game two, against Texas A&M-Kingsville, in similar fashion. Kentucky took all four points in both the first and second quarters to lead 8-0 at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Cats outscored the Javelinas 5-1, then Kentucky closed out the game by claiming 13 points in the fourth quarter, compared to just one for TAMUK.

Kentucky returns to action on Sunday, facing UC Davis twice. Game one is at 10 a.m. ET and game two will be at 1:45 p.m. ET.
