Four Wildcats Named to United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Four Kentucky Wildcats have been named in the United Soccer Coaches release of the 2025 All-Region Teams, per the release from the association’s office Friday afternoon.

Junior defender Marqes Muir added to his list of individual accolades this season by earning First Team All-Southeast Region honors. In his final season with the Wildcats, Muir was named to the All-Sun Belt First Team and SBC All-Tournament Team, along with coming in at No. 23 on the TopDrawerSoccer Midseason Top 100 list.

Goalkeeper Sebastian Conlon also added to his long list of individual accolades in 2025 by tacking on a Second Team All-Southeast Region honor on Friday. In his lone season with the Wildcats, Conlon started all 19 matches between the posts, recording 56 saves and allowing just 18 goals, resulting in the SBC’s second-best goals against average at 0.93. Conlon also kept eight clean sheets on the season, which was tied for the most in the Sun Belt Conference.

Midfielder Agustin Lopez featured as the third Wildcat to be named to the All-Region Second Team. Lopez, along with Muir and Conlon, earned All-Sun Belt First Team honors in 2025 and finished the season with four goals and two assists in 14 appearances during his sophomore season in Lexington.

Graduate forward Alex Ruiz became the fourth and final Wildcat, as well as the second newcomer, featured in Friday’s release on the All-Southeast Region Second Team. Ruiz, in his final collegiate season, and first with the Wildcats, scored a team-high seven goals, four assists and 18 points in 2025, adding All-Sun Belt Second Team and his second career hat-trick to his career resume.
