- Tonight’s win marked the 11th consecutive season that Kentucky has won a Southeastern Conference road game, extending the school record for that mark.
- Coach Mark Stoops extended his school records for wins (70) and SEC wins (32).
- UK’s three points and 241 total yards allowed are the fewest against an SEC opponent since allowing three points and 218 total yards at Mississippi State in 2023.
- Kentucky limited Auburn to three points, fewest UK had ever allowed in a game at Auburn.
- Three points is the fewest Auburn has scored in a home game in 13 years, since being shutout by Georgia in 2012.
- Kentucky made two fourth-down stops in the game, including the final play of the game. UK now has 11 defensive turnovers on downs this season. UK entered the game tied for second in the SEC with nine fourth-down stops.
- The Kentucky defense totaled 12 tackles for loss (-63 yards), including seven quarterback sacks (-49), adding one interception, four pass breakups and nine QB hurries.
Player Notes
- QB Cutter Boley completed 18 of 29 passes for 161 yards and one touchdown.
- He is the first UK freshman quarterback to win an SEC road game since Morgan Newton at Mississippi State in 2009.
- After missing last week’s game because of injury, RB Seth McGowan led the Wildcats rushing with 53 yards on 21 carries against the stout Auburn run defense.
- Freshman WR Cam Miller had three catches for 29 yards. However, his biggest play came following an Auburn interception late in the game when he caused a fumble during the return and UK’s Henry Boyer made the recovery.
- WR Kendrick Law led all receivers with six catches for 49 yards, including a 13-yard catch-and-run for the game’s only touchdown.
- This is the first time in his career with a touchdown reception in consecutive games.
- WR Fred Farrier had two crucial receptions for 45 yards. Both catches came on 3rd-and-11 plays on the lone touchdown drive of the game.
- CB Jordan Lovett made a game-sealing interception on the game’s final play.
- He has nine interceptions in his career.
- He became the first player in Kentucky history with at least two interceptions in four consecutive seasons.
- In addition to his interception, he had six tackles.
- LB Daveren Rayner led the Wildcat defense in tackles with eight, including a tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry.
- LB Sam Greene had a career-high seven tackles while tying career highs with two tackles for loss (-11 yards) and a quarterback sack (-10).
- Greene also had a pass breakup and a QB hurry.
- LB Alex Afari Jr. was a pass-rush terror, tying career highs with 2.5 tackles for loss for -13 yards and 1.5 QB sacks (-11). He totaled six tackles.
- Afari added a career-high three QB hurries and also had a pass breakup.
- DL Kahlil Saunders had 1.5 quarterback sacks, tying his career high, good for -12 yards. He totaled four tackles and also had a QB hurry.
- CB JQ Hardaway had three tackles and a career-high-tying two pass breakups.
- DL Austin Ramsey got the first sack of his career (-4 yards) and his first QB hurry.
- DL Tavion Gadson got his second solo sack of the season (-5 yards). He had two total tackles and a QB hurry.
- The team leader in quarterback sacks, LB Steven “Sack ‘em” Soles Jr. had one-half sack tonight.
- P Aidan Laros had a magnificent game, punting six times for a 44.8-yard average, with all six punts landing inside the Auburn 20-yard line.
- Auburn’s starting field position after Laros’ punts was its own 10-yard line.
- K Jacob Kauwe added 1-of-1 on PAT, improving to 21-of-21 for his season / career.
- He added 1-of-1 on field goals, with a 48-yarder in the second quarter.
- He improved to 11-of-14 on field goals this season.
- He improved to 5-of-5 on field goals from 40-49 this season.
