Kentucky Men’s Golf Faces 18-Team Field at Bearcat Invitational

CINCINNATI – Kentucky men’s golf will compete at the Bearcat Invitational for the second-straight season when play begins at Coldstream Country Club (par 71, 7279 yards) on Monday.

The 54-hole tournament will see 18 teams in the field, with competitors playing 36 holes on Monday before the final round on Tuesday.

Play begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. on Monday, while Tuesday will feature tee times beginning at 9 a.m. based on Monday’s results. Kentucky will begin on hole Nos. 5-8 in foursomes with representatives from Iowa State, South Florida and Ohio State. Live scoring can be found at scoreboard.clippd.com.

The Bearcat marks the second tournament of the fall for the Wildcats, who opened the season by finishing sixth at the Visit Knox Collegiate. UK was led by Luke Coyle and Jacob Lang in the fall opener, as both players finished T-15 at 1-under par. Coyle and Lang both return to the Cats lineup this week, as does senior captain Jack Schoenberger and freshman Cole Stockard. Charles Cauthen, who placed T-49 at the Visit Knox Collegiate while competing as an individual, will move into the starting lineup at the Bearcat, while fellow freshman Cameron Phillips will be the individual for UK in his first collegiate event.

Among the 18-team field are two schools who reached the NCAA Championship a year ago in Augusta and South Florida, while nine of the 18 teams qualified for NCAA Regionals last season.

2025 will mark Kentucky’s seventh overall appearance at the Bearcat Invitational and the second-consecutive year teeing it up at Coldstream. The Wildcats finished 11th a year ago at 17-over par, while Schoenberger was T-14 at 1-over par total. Kentucky won the event in 2017 and has three top three finishes through the program’s first six appearances at the tournament.
