Women’s Soccer Continues Homestand Against Purdue Fort Wayne

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky (4-0-0) continues to its season-opening nine-match homestand on Thursday, August 28, welcoming Purdue Fort Wayne (0-2-1) to The Bell for a 7:30 p.m. ET contest. Admission to the match is free to all fans and there will be a rally towel giveaway at the gate. For fans unable to attend, the match will be streamed on SEC Network + with Josh Braun and Wildcat alumna Gretchen Mills on the call.

The Wildcats enter the match with a perfect record, defeating ETSU and Detroit Mercy during the most recent weekend of play. Kentucky is looking to continue unbeaten streaks of 18 consecutive home matches and 21 consecutive regular season non-conference contests.

The Cats’ offense has been churning through four matches, leading the SEC in shots and corner kicks while ranking second in goals scored. Additionally, the 2025 team’s 15 goals through four games matches the 2005 squad for the most in program history.

Sophomore Alexis Tylenda has been the star of the early season, leading the team with five goals and 11 points. The Pittsburgh native leads the SEC in both of those categories and ranks third and sixth, respectively, nationally. Junior Tanner Strickland has also featured for the Cats, leading the team with three assists—good for second in the conference—while also drawing a penalty kick in each match.

In net, freshman Khadijah Cissé picked up her first solo shutout in Sunday’s win against Detroit Mercy. The Montreal native has started all four matches and has yet to give up a goal in her 225 minutes of play.

The Wildcats will stay at home and face their first power conference opponent of the season, hosting Illinois on August 31 at 1 p.m. ET. The match will stream on SEC Network +. Admission to all 2025 Kentucky Soccer regular season home matches will be free to the public.
