Khadijah Cissé Set to Represent Canadian U-17 Women’s National Team
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Freshman goalkeeper Khadijah Cissé has been selected to represent the Canadian U-17 Women’s National Team at the U-17 Women’s Four Nations Tournament in Mexico City. The event, which features Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, and the United States, will run from July 26-August 1 and will be played at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento (CAR), the Mexican Football Federation’s High Performance Centre in Mexico City.
The Four Nations Tournament brings together four World Cup-bound nations from the Concacaf region, offering Canada a valuable opportunity to face high-caliber opposition ahead of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025.
This marks Cissé’s sixth call-up to the Canadian U-17 Women’s National Team, with the Montreal native most recently serving on the CONCACAF Women’s U-17 Qualifiers squad that helped the nation earns its bid to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025 in April. Cissé also featured on a Canada squad that earned the bronze medal at the 2024 CONCACAF U-17 Women’s Championship.
Cissé comes to Lexington from the CF Montreal Academy, where she won multiple championships including the 2024 Coupe Quebec, 2023 Ligue 1 Quebec, and 2023 U-21 LSEQ. At the U-21 LSEQ, Cissé was named the Gold Glove recipient for her excellence in the net.
Cissé will join a class of nine other freshmen for the 2025 preseason upon completion of her national team duties. Kentucky Women’s Soccer will open the upcoming campaign with a home exhibition contest against Austin Peay on Sunday, August 3 at 3 p.m. ET. The 2025 regular season will commence on Thursday, August 14, as the Wildcat welcome Jackson State to the Bell for a 7:30 p.m. ET match.
