LEXINGTON, Ky. – The 2016 John Calipari Coaches’ Clinic has been set for Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Joe Craft Center on the campus of the University of Kentucky. Last year’s clinic was sold out, so early registration is encouraged to reserve a spot.
The day-long event, intended for male and female coaches, gives a unique look into the coaching philosophies and strategies that Calipari uses in guiding the eight-time national championship basketball program at Kentucky. Included in this year’s clinic will be a chance to tour the Joe Craft Center and the training facilities used by the Wildcats, with staff members available to answer questions.
Attendees will be given exclusive access to watch Coach Calipari and his staff conduct practice with the 2016-17 Wildcats. There will be opportunities to ask questions to Coach Calipari and his staff after practice.
UPDATE: Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Larry Brown, the only coach in basketball history to win both an NCAA national championship and an NBA title, will be in attendance as a featured guest. Former Drexel and UMass head coach Brusier Flint will also be in attendance.
The cost of the clinic is $100. Registration will close on Oct. 28, so please secure your spot for this year’s clinic early through the online registration link or at ukathletics.com/camps.
Check-in for the 2016 Coaches’ Clinic will be from 9-10 a.m. in the lobby of the Joe Craft Center.
Parking will be available only in the E lot located on the north side of the Joe Craft Center. Attendees must park in a legal parking spot in the E lots only (parking in R lots is not permitted).
Please note that participants of recruiting age (males or females currently in the 7th-12th grade, junior college or prep school) are not permitted to register for or attend the clinic.
Registration is available online and any clinic related questions can be called into the men’s basketball camp line at 859-257-9457 or 859-257-1916.

About Larry Brown: Coach Larry Brown is the only coach in basketball history to have won both an NCAA national championship (Kansas, 1988) and an NBA title (Detroit Pistons, 2004). A member of both the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and College Basketball Hall of Fame as a coach, Brown played in the ABA, where he was a three-time All-Star and won a championship. He was also on the 1964 Olympic team that won a gold medal. He owns more than 1,200 wins all-time in his coaching career in the NBA and the ABA, and he’s the only coach in NBA history to lead eight different teams to the playoffs. Brown’s collegiate coaching stops included Kansas in the 1980s and most recently at SMU.
About Bruiser Flint: Coach Bruiser Flint is a longtime college coach and former pupil of John Calipari. Flint has 20 years of college head coaching experience at UMass (1997-2001) and Drexel (2002-16), where he’s racked up a career record of 331-289. At Drexel, where Flint was the all-time winningest coach in school history, he was named the Colonial Athletic Association Coach of the Year four different times. In 2012, he led the school to its first regular-season CAA championship. Flint has also been named a National Association of Basketball Coaches District Coach of the Year in four different seasons. Flint was an assistant under Calipari at UMass and took over the helm when Calipari left for the NBA.
