OCALA, FL – The University of Kentucky swimming program delivered a strong performance at the 2025 CSCAA National Invitational Championship in Ocala, Florida, with the women’s team finishing second overall with 1,239.50 points and the men’s team securing fifth place with 610.50 points. The Wildcats earned a combined second-place finish, showcasing depth and talent across all three days of competition.
Kentucky started strong on day one, with sophomore Devin Naoroz capturing the 50 back title, while freshman Hayden Penny and sophomore Aaron Gasiewicz earned second-place finishes in the 200 IM. The Wildcats also picked up third-place finishes from sophomore Madi McGlothen and freshman Caue Gluck in the 500 free, along with five new personal bests to kick off the meet. Both teams ended the night in fourth place in the standings.
Day two saw even more success, as McGlothen finished second in the 400 IM, followed by Penny in third. Naoroz added to his impressive meet with a runner-up finish in the 100 back, while Kentucky swimmers recorded five more personal bests. By the end of the night, the women’s team moved into second place, while the men climbed to third, solidifying a combined second-place position.
The Wildcats closed out the meet with several standout performances on day three. Senior Lydia Hanlon captured the 200 back title, while junior Fernanda de Goeij secured second in the same event. Junior JT Broome finished third in the 200 breast, notching the ninth best time in program history, and junior Logan Ingerick grabbed third in the 100 IM. Naoroz swam an impressive time of 1:42.71, a second best in program history. The Wildcats wrapped up the weekend with 10 new personal bests, capping off a stellar showing in Florida.
With multiple top finishes and a deep roster contributing across events, Kentucky’s runner-up combined finish underscores the program’s strength on the national stage. The meet brought 20 new personal bests and two new top ten times, which showed the improvement of the Wildcats since the beginning of the season. They look to build off of these performances in the off-season to prove that they are ready for next fall.
