Kentucky Hosts NIU in Final Non-Conference Tune-up

Before getting down to business in the rugged Southeastern Conference this weekend at No. 3 Georgia, No. 23 Kentucky hosts NIU on Tuesday in a game that was added to the schedule are a pair of weather-related cancellations.

First pitch is at 6:30 p.m. ET, will stream on the SECN+ and audio air on the UK Sports Network, UKathletics.com app and 98.5 FM in Lexington.

Freshman RHP Nate Harris will draw the third start of his career. He pitched 4.0 shutout innings in a victory at Eastern Kentucky last week. He is part of a pitching staff that currently ranks second in nation in earned run average and WHIP.

Over the weekend, UK (12-2) took two of three games from Wofford, which routinely is one of the nation’s top mid-major programs. The Wildcats won the opener in run rule fashion and then claimed Sunday’s finale in a 2-1 pitching duel.
