WILDCATS HEAD COACH TROY FABIANO
Fabiano just completed his third season at the helm of Kentucky women’s soccer in 2024 with one of the most successful seasons in Kentucky history leading the Wildcats to a 11-5-5 season. Unbeaten at home, the cats made it to the NCAA second round for the first time in over a decade.
In 2023 Fabiano lead the Wildcats to a 9-4-6 season, the program’s most wins since 2015 and most results since the 2014 season.
Fabiano’s Wildcats began the 2023 campaign by putting together an unbeaten non-conference resume for the first time since 2007, going 6-0-1 outside the league including two victories over Power Five opponents (Illinois + Iowa State). That unbeaten stretch continued through UK’s first six SEC matches as the Wildcats remained without a loss through 13 matches, the program’s longest ever unbeaten streak to begin a season.
Fabiano got his first SEC win as head coach on Sept. 29 when Kentucky took down No. 9 Alabama at the Bell Soccer Complex, 2-1. In addition to it being Fabiano’s first win in the conference, the victory was also the first for Kentucky against a ranked opponent since 2016, and it’s first over a top-10 side since 2014. That victory propelled the Cats into the United Soccer Coaches Top-25 at No. 18, its first ranking since the 2015 season.
Kentucky put together a 3-3-4 SEC campaign, the 13 conference points earned being the most for UK since 2014. The team qualified for the SEC Tournament as the No. 7 seed, marking it’s first SEC Tournament appearance since 2020 and first with the 10-team format since 2015.
Fabiano also coached three Wildcats to All-SEC recognition as Jordyn Rhodes (First Team), Grace Phillpotts (Second Team) and Tanner Strickland (All-Freshman) were each honored by the conference.
During the first year of his tenure, Fabiano’s Wildcats finished with a record of 7-9-2 in 2022. The Cats enjoyed a stellar 7-1-0 mark in non-conference play, the program’s most wins outside of the SEC since 2015. UK displayed a versatile attack with 12 different players scoring a goal throughout the season, the most different goal scorers for Kentucky since 2015. Fabiano guided the Wildcats to two wins in non-conference play against power-five schools for the first time since 2015 as UK took down Purdue and Iowa State. The victory over Purdue marked the first non-conference victory over a power-five school since 2016.
NCAA rules prohibit payment of camp expenses (camp tuition, transportation, spending money, etc…) for prospects (9th grade and above) by University of Kentucky donors. NCAA rules also prohibit free or reduced camp admissions for prospects. If you have any questions, notify camp officials prior to attending camp.
The University of Kentucky’s camps and clinics are open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender).
