Team Records and Series Information

  • Kentucky moved to 3-5 on the season, including 1-5 in the Southeastern Conference.
    • Auburn improved to 3-5, including 1-4 in the league.
  • The Tigers remain the leader in the all-time series 28-6-1 overall, including 14-4 in Lexington.

 

Next Game

  • Kentucky travels to No. 7/8 Tennessee on Saturday, Nov. 2. The border battle at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee, will begin at 7:45 p.m. ET and will be televised on the SEC Network.

Player Notes

  • QB Brock Vandagriff completed nine of his 17 passes for 120 yards.
  • QB Gavin Wimsatt completed a season-high-tying three of his season-high 10 attempts for 34 yards.
  • WR Dane Key had a game-high-tying four receptions for a game-high 87 yards.
    • Three of his four catches were of 20 yards or more, including his first two of the game in the first quarter, each of which helped set up UK’s two scores.
      • He has made 12 catches this season of 20 yards or more.
    • He is the first player with at least four receptions in five consecutive games since Wan’Dale Robinson, who did so in the last eight games of the 2021 season.
    • He now has 1,742 career yards receiving to move into seventh on the program’s all-time, career-yards receiving list. He needs just two more to move into sixth and 11 more to move into fifth.
  • WR Hardley Gilmore IV made his first career catch on a 22-yard reception in the second quarter.
  • Making his first collegiate start, redshirt freshman RB Jamarion Wilcox had his first career touchdown on a two-yard rush in the first quarter.
    • In the game, he had seven carries for 25 yards and one touchdown.
  • RB Jason Patterson, a freshman, combined for six rushes and a team-high 38 yards, while he also had his first career reception for 15 yards in the first quarter.
  • LB Jamon Dumas-Johnson, LB Alex Afari and DB Jordan Lovett led the Wildcats with eight tackles each.
  • DB JQ Hardaway made his second interception of the season, and the second of his career, on the Auburn 40 in the first quarter.
    • He had seven total tackles, all of which were individual stops.
  • DL Deone Walker recorded his first full sack of the season (-8 yards), while he made four total tackles.
  • DL Keeshawn Silver recorded the first sack of his career (-2 yards), recording four total tackles in the game.
  • LB J.J. Weaver recorded five total tackles, one sack (-7 yards) and a quarterback hurry in his limited minutes.
    • He now has 21.5 sacks and 37.5 tackles for loss in his career, which ranks fourth and third, respectively, in program history.
      • With his lone TFL against Auburn, he improved from seventh in program history to solo third in program history.
  • K Alex Raynor extended his streak to 15 straight field goals – a school record and personal best streak that began last season against Tennessee at Kroger Field on Oct. 28, 2023 – with one connection in tonight’s game from 46 yards.
    • He also went 1-of-1 on extra point attempts against Auburn, improving to 15-of-16 this season.
