Kentucky Baseball Releases 2024 Schedule
With an eye toward advancing to the NCAA Tournament for a second consecutive season, the Kentucky baseball program once again will face one of the nation’s most challenging schedules in the spring, including a trip to a premiere early season event in Texas.
The Wildcats will open their eighth season under coach Nick Mingione with two weekends on the road and the home opener at Kentucky Proud Park sandwiched in between on February 20 versus Morehead State. A home-and-home series with Eastern Kentucky on back-to-back days in early March is also a new wrinkle to the schedule.
UK will open the season on February 16 at South Carolina-Upstate as part of a three-game series in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The following weekend features a trip to Round Rock, Texas for The Karbach Round Rock Classic event that will involve a round robin format versus Kansas, Texas State and Washington State. The pre-conference portion of the schedule sees Lipscomb and Kennesaw State travel to Lexington.
The Cats will open and close Southeastern Conference play at home for the second straight season, as Georgia travels to Lexington March 15-17 and Vanderbilt wraps league play May 16-18. UK will face Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas and Vanderbilt at home and will travel to Missouri, Ole Miss, Auburn, South Carolina and Florida.
The traditional home-and-home with Louisville and rare midweeks trip to Samford (April 9) and Xavier (May 7) also highlight the non-conference portion of the schedule.
New season tickets currently can be purchased here or via UKathletics.com.
The Cats are entering their eighth season under head coach Nick Mingione and have won 216 games during his tenure, including last spring’s 40-win season that ended in the Super Regional at eventual national champion LSU. It was just the second NCAA Regional championship in program history.
