Emma Grome Wins SEC Player of the Week, SEC Setter of the Week
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky Volleyball setter Emma Grome was named the Southeastern Conference’s Setter of the Week for a fifth time this season and was also named the overall SEC Player of the Week on Monday afternoon for the third time this season.
Grome led the Kentucky offense to a .284 hitting percentage on the road with 50-plus assists in both matches as Kentucky beat South Carolina and No. 20 Florida on the weekend. Grome averaged 12.63 assists per set with 50 assists at South Carolina and one more, 51, Sunday afternoon as UK picked up its fourth top-25 win of the season.
Grome also had an ace in both matches, and averaged 1.75 digs per set, as she was just one dig shy of a double-double Sunday in Gainesville with nine digs to couple her 51 assists.
Grome was successful on three of her seven attempted setter dumps for the weekend.
Kentucky’s four-match road trip continues Wednesday night as it faces No. 24 Auburn in a battle of two top-25 teams on The Plains. The match will begin at 7:30 p.m. ET live on the SEC Network+ and the ESPN app from Neville Arena in Auburn.

UK Athletics announced earlier this spring that Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center will serve as the primary home venue for the Kentucky gymnastics, volleyball and women’s basketball teams for the 2023-24 season while Memorial Coliseum undergoes an $82 million renovation.
