UPDATE: The final 18 holes at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational have been canceled because of inclement weather in northwest Arkansas. With scores reverting back to the conclusion of two rounds, Kentucky finishes the tournament in fourth place after the 36-hole event. Alex Goff notches his third top-10 finish in three events this season with a tie for second at 4-under-par.

“This week was a great experience for our team,” head coach Gator Todd said. “With all of us playing together you get to see every shot each player hits. Different guys had to step up each round and I believe this will help us down the road. Individually, Alex is continuing to play at a high level. His consistency in how he shows up every day gives our team a lot of confidence. Michael Hake had a solid week as well, with coach Chip McDaniel doing a great job keeping him committed and in the moment. We look forward to having a couple weeks back home before Steelwood.”

Day Two Results

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas – The Kentucky men’s golf team sits fourth at 14-over-par through 36 holes at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational at Blessings Golf Club Tuesday afternoon in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Cats carded a 9-over-par 297 team score Tuesday after firing a 5-over 293 Monday.

The Cats get their second round going at 11 a.m. ET Tuesday, with Golf Channel providing live coverage of the event from 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Graduate Alex Goff, who won the event in 2020, sits in a tie for second with Mississippi State’s Hunter Logan after a second-consecutive 2-under-par 70, four strokes back of Arkansas’ John Driscoll. After opening with a birdie on the par-5 10th hole, Goff bogeyed the par-5 15th and par-3 17th for a 1-over 37 on his opening nine. The Kings Mountain, North Carolina, native then bounced back with a bogey-free 3-under 33 on his closing nine, making birdie at the par-5 fifth, par-3 eighth and par-4 ninth for his fifth-consecutive round under par.

Freshman Michael Hake fired his second-straight 2-over 74 to sit in a tie for 23rd at 4-over, while redshirt freshman Solomon Petrie is two shots back in a tie for 30th after a 5-over 77. Hake also opened with a birdie on the par-5 10th but a bogey and a double put him at an opening-nine 2-over 38. The Brentwood, Tennessee, native then played his second nine in even-par with seven pars, a birdie and a bogey. Petrie was unable to overcome a tough opening nine in which he carded two birdies but also had three bogeys and two doubles before an even-par second nine.

Senior Campbell Kremer struggled to an opening-nine 43 but was able to bounce back with four birdies against two bogeys on his second nine to sit in a tie for 39th at 9-over through two rounds. Junior transfer Jansen Preston played his first nine in 1-under but two bogeys and a triple dropped the Lexington native into a tie for 45th at 12-over.

Goff leads the 50-competitor field in par-4 scoring at 3-under, while his 23 pars rank tied for third.
