LEXINGTON ? The Blue team used three pitchers to blank the Black, 2-0, and take a 2-1 series lead in the UK Baseball Fall World Series on Friday afternoon at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
Junior Troy Ragle got the start and hurled four scoreless innings before giving way to the bullpen. Michael Ruby came in and pitched two shutout frames before senior Adam Revelette got the save with a scoreless seventh. The trio gave up only four hits, two of which were collected by Matt McKinney.
While the Blue also registered just four hits, two of them plated runs in the fourth inning. Brian Hastings, who was 2-for-3, belted an RBI double to score the first run and came home when Gary Bucuren singled him home.
Dewayne Oxford gave up both runs after throwing three scoreless innings to start for the Black. Ryan Keaton kept the game close by not giving up a run in the final three innings.
Game four of the series takes place on Saturday.
