Team Records and Series Notes   

• The University of Kentucky women’s basketball program is in its 49th season with an 890-576 (.608) all-time record.    
  • The Wildcats are now 8-7 overall and 0-3 in the league.  
  • The Lady Bulldogs are now 12-5 overall and 1-2 in the league. 
• Kyra Elzy is in her third season as the head coach of the Wildcats, holding a 45-28 overall record.   
  • She has a 17-17 overall record in the SEC. 
• Georgia remains the leader in the series with Kentucky, 39-22. 
• Kentucky will return home to play host to No. 7/6 LSU on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 2 p.m. ET inside Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center. 
  • It is the program’s annual Alumni Day. 

Team Notes   

• Kentucky used the starting combination Jada Walker, Maddie Scherr, Robyn Benton, Blair Green and Nyah Leveretter for the ninth game this season. UK is 5-4 using that starting combination.   
  • Georgia won the opening tip.  
  • Jada Walker was the first player to score for Kentucky.  
  • Adebola Adeyeye was the first substitute off the bench for Kentucky.  
• Kentucky led Georgia, 16-10, at the end of the first timeout. 
  • Georgia scored first, but Jada Walker fired back with a make from long range to take an early lead.  
  • The Lady Bulldogs knocked down a couple of makes from the line, then Kentucky enjoyed a 9-0 run to take a 12-4 lead with two minutes and 53 seconds remaining in the first quarter. 
    • That 9-0 run was capped with a 3-pointer by Robyn Benton, which helped her eclipse 1,000 career points. 
  • Georgia responded with a 6-0 run. 
  • Kentucky capped the first quarter on a 4-0 scoring series to lead Goergia, 16-10, at the end of the first quarter. 
• The two teams tied scoring, 13-13, after a second quarter that was full of runs. 
  • The Lady Bulldogs began to close the gap, going on a 7-0 run to begin the second quarter. That stretch included a couple of makes at the line, a jumper and a 3-pointer. 
  • The Wildcats answered with an 11-1 run over the next five minutes. 
  • Georgia broke its silence with two straight jumpers, which included an old-fashion, three-point play. 
  • Robyn Benton capped the period by drawing a shooting foul and knocking down both of her attempts at the line. 
  • Kentucky led Georgia, 29-23, at halftime.  
• Kentucky knocked down two 3-pointers to open the third quarter, with Georgia scoring two points in between.  
  • Georgia then went on a 13-2 run that lasted for more than five minutes. UGA’s final score of that run was on a free throw, that helped it take its first lead since the start of the game, 38-37, at 2:51. 
  • Kentucky used the final two minutes and 39 seconds of the third quarter to keep Georgia scoreless from the floor and just three makes at the line, as UK made a pair of 3-pointers and a pair of jumpers in that time. 
  • The Wildcats led the Lady Bulldogs, 47-41, at the end of the fourth quarter. 
• The Lady Bulldogs began the fourth quarter on a 10-2 run. 
  • Maddie Scherr capped their scoring run and tied the game at 51-51 with a jumper at 6:29. 
  • Georgia answered with a 3-pointer and a layup to take a 56-51 lead. 
  • The two teams each hit a pair of free throws, then Scherr drained a 3-pointer and knocked down two free throws to tie the game at 58-58 with one minute remaining in the game. 
  • The Lady Bulldogs answered with a layup, then Benton hit one right back, as the two teams remained tied with 25 seconds in the game. 
  • Georgia knocked down a crucial 3-pointer early on its next possession, and Kentucky couldn’t respond on the other end of the court. 
  • The Lady Bulldogs defeated the Wildcats, 64-60. 
• Kentucky shot 44.0 percent from the field on 22-of-50 shooting, while Georgia shot 44.2 percent from the floor on 23-of-52 shooting. 
• The Wildcats knocked down eight shots from long range in the game. 
  • It marked the sixth game this season the Cats have made at least six 3-pointers. 
• Kentucky outrebounded Georgia, 34-27. 

Player Notes   

• Graduate guard Robyn Benton led Kentucky with 19 points. 
  • She eclipsed 1,000 career points on her first make of the game, a 3-pointer at 2:53 in the first quarter. 
  • She has scored in double digits in all 14 games she has played in this season. 
  • She made at least one 3-pointer for the ninth straight game.  
• Junior guard Maddie Scherr had 12 points. 
  • Her points were off 4-of-9 from the field, including 2-of-4 from long range, and 2-of-2 from the line. 
  • She added six rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block. 
    • She has made at least one steal for six straight games.  
• Freshman guard Kennedy Cambridge came off the bench and had a career-high eight rebounds and five points. 
  • She added a career-high tying three assists and a steal.
