High School: Three-year starter on offense and defense at Buckeye Trail HS in Old Washington, Ohio … Started at linebacker as a sophomore, then played defensive end as a junior and senior … Played fullback on offense … As a senior he notched 88 tackles, 7.5 quarterback sacks, recovered two fumbles and scored one touchdown on defense … At fullback, he rushed 173 times for 1,075 yards, averaging 6.2 yards per attempt, and scored 11 touchdowns … Caught nine passes for 104 yards … Also handled placekicking duties, making 17 of 21 extra points and his only field goal attempt … In his career at Buckeye Trail, he made 243 tackles, 14.5 quarterback sacks, and recovered five fumbles … Rushed 324 times for 1,959 yards and scored 23 touchdowns … Caught 25 passes in his career for 223 yards … A two-year selection on the All-Ohio Valley Athletic Conference team … Also honorable mention all-state as a senior … Coached by Bill Starr … Comes from the same school that produced standout UK All-SEC linebacker Jeff Snedegar … Honor roll student and a member of the 4H Club … Also recruited by Virginia Tech, North Carolina State, and Michigan State.
