She enters her 19th season at the University of Kentucky, and her 17th season with the Wildcats’ women’s basketball program in 2025-26. Also at UK, she works with the Wildcats’ national championship rifle program and oversees all women’s sports health issues and protocols.
En route to planting her roots in the Bluegrass, Jones first received her undergraduate degree in athletic training from Purdue in Spring 2001.
She spent the next two seasons as a graduate assistant at Kentucky (2001-02 – 2002-03), where she was the men’s and women’s swimming athletic trainer before receiving her master’s degree in kinesiology from there in Spring 2003.
Jones spent the following season at Barton College (2003-04), serving as the volleyball and softball athletic trainer. There, she also was an assistant professor at the private, liberal arts college in Wilson, North Carolina, teaching athletic training taping practicum, first aid, CPR and athletic injuries and kinesiology.
The next five seasons she spent at Northwestern (2004-05 – 2008-09) as the women’s basketball and cross country athletic trainer.
Following five seasons in Chicago, Jones returned to Kentucky in 2009-10, working with the women’s basketball program from the get-go, while also serving several other sports and earning numerous promotions along the way, too.
