2009 (Freshman): Outdoor – After an impressive indoor season, red-shirted outdoor competition after incurring an injury after Penn Relays in late April … At Penn Relays, ran the third leg of the 4x100m relay squad that crossed the finish line at 40.31 to place sixth in the college final … Posted a fourth-place time of 10.35 in the 100m dash at the Sea Ray Relays; the personal-best time ranks 11th in school history … Achieved three regional-qualifying marks in the 200m dash and as a member of two relay squads at Florida Relays … Placed seventh overall during his Wildcat outdoor debut in the 200m dash in Gainesville, clocking in a 20.99 to rank ninth all-time at UK … Ran on the 4x400m relay that posted a season-best time of 3:05.77 in Florida and competed on the 4x100m relay that placed fifth overall, crossing the finish in 40.03. Indoor – At the NCAA Championships, ran an opening split of 47.00 to help team record time of 3:09.15 for an 11th-place national finish … At SEC Championships in Lexington, ran as a member of the third-place 4x400m relay team that posted a time of 3:06.78 to rank fourth all-time in school history … Broke the 200m dash freshman record twice during the SEC Championships, turning in a personal-best mark of 20.99 in the final to place sixth in the conference and tie for fourth all-time at UK with teammate Jose Acevedo in the event … Also earned points for the Cats at the league championships in the 60m dash, finishing the race in eighth place at 6.73 … Made sure his collegiate debut in the 200m dash did not go unnoticed at Iowa State Classic, winning the race with a scorching time of 21.13 to originally top DeMarcus Lindsey’s 16-year old freshman UK mark of 21.23 … Made debut in the Blue and White at the Kentucky Invitational by breaking former Olympian Tim Harden’s 16-year-old converted freshman record mark of 6.72 in the 60m dash by posting a third-place time of 6.71 that ranks eighth all-time in the UK record books.
