Coach Collins on Andy – “Andy is our returning starting goalkeeper. He’s an unbelievable shot-stopper, and has worked hard on his aerial game and kicking game. He will be competing for the starting spot again this year.”

2002 – Called into a starting role when senior Greg Raber suffered season-ending injury against Indiana… First career collegiate start came against MAC-rival Marshall, a double-overtime 2-1 loss… Started seven games, all against conference opponents, playing a total of 645:50 minutes… Allowed 12 goals, for a goals against average of 1.67… Recorded three wins and 27 saves during season.

2001 – Sat out season as a redshirt.

Pre-College – A four-year letter winner at Blue Valley North High… Named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and the Gatorade Kansas Player of the Year… Member of Midwest Region team in 2000 and was the 2000 Metro Player of the Year… Played for the Olympic Development Program’s Region 2 team in 2000… Saved four of eight penalty shots to win the Kansas State High School Championship.

Personal – Born Dec. 30, 1982, in Kansas City, Mo…. Parents are Kristine and Michael Gruenebaum… Was a member of the honor roll at Blue Valley North… Is an ice hockey fan and cheers for the New Jersey Devils… Majoring in business.
