Oscar Tshiebwe 2022-23 Preseason Honors

Oscar Tshiebwe, the reigning unanimous National Player of the Year and All-America First-Team honoree, led the country in rebounding with 15.1 boards per game to go along with a team-high 17.4 points per contest a season ago. The 2022 First-Team All-SEC pick and Naismith Defensive Player of the Year finalist set a Kentucky single-season record with 28 double-doubles while finishing the season as the only major-conference player averaging 1.6 blocks and 1.6 steals per game.

NABC, Naismith Player of the Year Watch Lists

One of 20 players on the NABC Player of the Year Award watch list, Tshiebwe captured the award last season, and will look to become the award’s first repeat winner since Duke’s Jason Williams in 2001 and 2002.
One of 50 players on the Naismith Trophy Player of the Year watch list, Tshiebwe will try to become the first repeat winner since Virginia’s Ralph Samson won three awards from 1981-1983.
