Kentucky faces West Virginia for the 7th time in program history on Friday. Last season, the Wildcats defeated the No. 10 Mountaineers 1-0 in Lexington to improve their all-time series record to 4-0-2.

The Wildcats currently sit in eighth place in the Sun Belt Conference standings with four points following the win over Old Dominion and a draw against UCF. Heading into the home stretch of the regular season, Kentucky will face West Virginia on Friday night, before returning home to face the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Oct. 21. The Cats’ final three games feature matchups against James Madison (Oct. 25), Georgia Southern (Oct. 30) and Georgia State (Nov. 3).

In a run of good form, Goalkeeper Benjamin Rasmussen now ranks second in the Sun Belt with 40 saves this season after recording eight against Indiana and six against South Carolina. The Danish keeper also ranks second in the conference in saves per game at 4.44.

West Virginia enters match day 11 of the season coming off a 2-1 defeat against Old Dominion last week, moving their overall record to 5-2-3 on the season. In their following match, the Mountaineers were held to a 0-0 draw against American on Monday.

The Mountaineers are led on the offensive end by SBC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year Pablo Pozos, who currently has four goals and two assists on the year. Midfielder Isaac Scheer and defender Jacob Redenfors lead the team in assists with three, which ranks third in the Sun Belt. On the defensive side, goalkeeper Toby Mawer leads the conference in goals against average at 0.78 and ranks third in clean sheets with four.
