Men’s Tennis Adds Rihards Neimanis to Roster

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Men’s Tennis team and head coach Cedric Kauffmann announced Thursday the addition of Rihards Neimanis to its roster, where he will join the Wildcats in January.

Neimanis joins Kentucky from Latvia where he is currently slotted at No. 65 in the International Tennis Federation’s junior rankings in singles and 34th in the ITF doubles rankings. He has had a busy summer playing challenger events in Spain and Tunisia where he advanced to three rounds of 16 in those ATP Challenger Tour events.

“We’re excited for Rihards to come to Kentucky,” Kauffman said about the addition of Neimanis to the roster. “He is one of the best players in the world in his age group, a hard worker and packs a strong punch for someone his size. He is friends with some of the guys on our team and that will help him quickly get settled into Lexington and make an immediate impact for the Wildcats.”

Neimanis also has strong Davis Cup experience, where he has played for Latvia beginning in 2024 and was also most recently a winner in his singles match in Latvia’s 3-0 win over Azerbaijan back in June.
