Ann Lemirisho Named SEC Women’s Runner of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –Wildcat sophomore Ann Lemirisho has been named the SEC Women’s Runner of the Week, per the release from the conference office Tuesday afternoon.

In the season opener last week at the Tennessee Invitational, Lemirisho crossed the finish line atop the leaderboard with a time of 15:54.7 in the women’s 3-mile race in her first career event in a Kentucky uniform.

Lemirisho is coming off an impressive freshman cross country campaign at Cincinnati in 2025. She claimed two event wins at the RedHawk Rumble and Angel Mounds Invitational. Later in the year, Lemirisho placed fourth in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional to punch her ticket to the NCAA Championships. She followed that performance by posting a season-best time of 19:47.4 in the final event of the season.

“Congratulations to Ann on being named SEC Runner of the Week,” Coach Tito Medrano said. “She did a great job leading her team this past weekend. As a staff, we’re proud of her efforts and happy to see her hard work coming to fruition.”

Next up for the Wildcats will be their first of two trips to Columbia, Mo. this season for the annual Gans Creek Classic on Sept. 25.
