LEXINGTON, Ky. – Three Wildcats have been selected by NASA for the Launch Services Program (LSP) and Student-Airborne Research Program (SARP), which support the growth and experience of students. Lily DeLong of swimming and diving and Elisa Boozer of rifle will experience the LSP, while Devynn Bishop of swimming and diving will serve as an intern in the SARP.
The LSP will take place May 11-15 at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The short experience offers students opportunities in the fields of business, finance, education, outreach, public affairs, and engineering. Delong will focus on outreach and public affairs, with Boozer volunteering on the business side of things.
Bishop will participate in the SARP in Houston, Texas and San Diego, Calif. This is an eight-week summer internship opportunity for rising-senior undergraduates to gain hands-on research experience in all aspects of a scientific campaign.
Both experiences were supported by UK’s Student-Athlete Experience division, launched as a renewal of the department’s commitment to prepare student-athletes to enter life after UK.
