Jack Bennett Named to Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List

Kentucky pitcher Jack Bennett has been named to the Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, it has been announced.

Bennett, a senior from Paducah, Kentucky, has been an important piece of UK’s bullpen and registered six saves to this point of the season. In the Wildcats’ Southeastern Conference opening weekend sweep of Alabama he nailed down two of the three games. He also earned a save in Kentucky’s victory over Louisville.

Bennett, a Kentucky kid who transferred from Western Kentucky before this season, has appeared in 14 games and started one. In 23.0 innings he has allowed 23 hits and struck out 20 batters.
