Kentucky Lands Point Guard Zoom Diallo
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Zoom Diallo, who has played two seasons at Washington, has signed with the Kentucky men’s basketball program.
Diallo started 29 of the 33 games in which he appeared as a sophomore with the Huskies. He averaged 15.7 points and 4.5 assists per game, while shooting 48.9% from the field. The Tacoma, Washington, native scored double figures in 23 games, including a career-high 26 points against Southern California.
The 6-foot-4 lead guard charted three double-doubles on the season. He had 22 points and 11 assists, to go along with seven boards, in an overtime victory over Southern Cal in the Big Ten Tournament. He also registered a career-best 12 assists and 16 points against Iowa. His first double-double came at No. 9 Illinois with 12 points and 10 assists.
Diallo scored 20 of his 24 points in the second half against No. 23 Wisconsin in the Big Ten Tournament and had a team-high 18 points and five assists vs. No. 12 Michigan State. Diallo has been one of the best in the country at scoring in the paint and getting to the line. He went 104-126 (82.5%) at the charity stripe in 2025-26 and owned a 52.7% field-goal percentage from inside the arc.
Against 11 NCAA Tournament foes in 2025-26, Diallo scored in double figures in 10 outings. He had four or more assists in nine games and played 30 or more minutes in eight. He averaged 16.6 points and 6.0 assists per game, while shooting 51.8% from the field and 79.4% from the line. Diallo made 10 total 3s in those games and was 31 of 39 from the free-throw line, for an average of 3.5 trips per game.
As a freshman, Diallo appeared in all 31 games and made 22 starts. He shot 47.3% from the field and averaged 11.1 points per game. He ranked second on the team with 11.2 points and 3.1 assists per game against Big Ten competition. He topped double-figure scoring in 20 games, including a pair of six-game streaks.
Diallo was the No. 1 recruit in the state of Washington and the No. 3 point guard coming out of Tacoma Curtis Senior High School in 2024. He led Tacoma to back-to-back state championships and was the MVP of the state tournament in both seasons. Diallo was named the 2023 Washington Gatorade Player of the Year after averaging 20.2 points per game as a junior. He played at Prolific Prep and was a McDonald’s All-American as a senior.
