Kentucky Men’s Soccer Releases 2025 Fall Schedule
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky Wildcats men’s soccer program and head coach Johan Cedergren have announced the release of the 2025 fall season schedule on Tuesday afternoon, consisting of 18 total matches, including two preseason exhibitions and 10 regular-season home games.
Prior to the start of the fall season, the Wildcats will host the Lipscomb Bisons at the Bell Soccer Complex on Saturday, Aug. 9 at 3 p.m. for the first of two exhibition matches in the unofficial start to the season. The Cats will then travel north to Highland Heights, Ky. the following Saturday for their final preseason match against Northern Kentucky on Aug. 16 at 7 p.m.
The 2025 season will officially begin on Thursday, Aug. 21 when the Wildcats travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. to take on the Western Michigan Broncos at the WMU Soccer Complex at 5:30 p.m. Kentucky has won each of their last four season-opening matches and is 9-1 in season-openers dating back to the 2015 season. The Wildcats also boast a 14-2-1 all-time record against Western Michigan, most recently earning a 1-0 win at home in 2021.
UK will follow the season-opener on the road to a string of five consecutive matches at home, starting with the home-opener against in-state foe Bellarmine on Aug. 25 at the Bell Soccer Complex. Kicking off the month of September, the Wildcats will play host to UCLA (Sept. 1), Detroit Mercy (Sept. 9), and Bowling Green (Sept. 14). Kentucky will close out their first homestand of 2025 with the first match of Sun Belt Conference play against the UCF Knights on Sept. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
After the Sun Belt opener against UCF, the Cats will take on arch-rival Louisville on Sept. 23 at Dr. Mark and Cindy Lynn Stadium, followed by a trip to Conway, S.C. for a meeting against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers on Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.
The month of October will feature seven matches for Kentucky, five of which will be at home at the Bell Soccer Complex, including outings against James Madison (Oct. 4), Indiana (Oct. 14), South Carolina (Oct. 19), West Virginia (Oct. 26) and Georgia State (Oct. 31). The two road matches in October will come against Marshall on the 10th and Georgia Southern on the 22nd.
The Wildcats will close out the 2025 regular season on the road in Norfolk, Va. as they take on the Old Dominion Monarchs on Nov. 4 at 7:00 p.m.
The Sun Belt Conference schedule for 2025 will come to a close with the conference tournament starting on Nov. 9 with the quarterfinal match, the semifinal on Nov. 12 and the final on Nov. 16. The location and match times for the Sun Belt Tournament have yet to be determined.
