Marta López Echevarría Handed Over Final Scorecard of College Career

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. – Marta López Echevarría – the graduating senior who left her hometown of Roquetas de Mar, Spain, four years ago to be a Kentucky Wildcat – handed over the final scorecard of her college career on Wednesday, a 2-over-par 74 at Champion Trace at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky.

The Wildcat assembled a 4-over-par 220 tournament total, finishing T30 in front of friends and family at the NCAA Regional.

She went even-par through her first two holes Wednesday, then recorded back-to-back bogeys on the par-4 Nos. 3 and 4. She recovered from those blemishes fairly quickly, going birdie-par-birdie on Nos. 5-7. She finished up the front nine with a bogey on the par-5 No. 8, followed by a par on the par-3 No. 9.

Making the turn just 1-over, she used the first six holes of the back nine to put together five pars and just one bogey on the par-5 No. 11. She suffered another bogey on the par-3 No. 16 before wrapping up her college career with a birdie on the par-4 No. 17 and par on the par-4 No. 18.

López Echevarría was greeted by her coaches, teammates and family as she came off the 18th green for the last time in Blue and White.

She concluded her sensational season with a 72.8 stroke average through 27 rounds in 2024-25, leading the team and earning a career best for the Wildcat. She improved her stroke average each season at UK, wrapping up her college career with a 74.8 average through 71 rounds.
