Marz Josephson Tabbed SEC Defensive Player of the Week
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following a week of two straight shutouts, graduate goalkeeper Marz Josephson has been named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Josephson, a graduate transfer from North Carolina, collects the second SEC Defensive Player of the Week award after helping the Wildcats go 2-0-0 through the week with victories over Murray State and No. 9 UCLA. In the 2-0 upset over UCLA, Josephson made three saves and has only conceded one goal on the season through 576 minutes played.
Josephson now has seven wins and four shutouts on the season and ranks second in the SEC and fourth in the nation with a goals against average of 0.16.
The Wildcats return to the Bell Soccer Complex on Friday, September 13th for senior night when they host Kent State. The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m.
