This year’s NCAA Tournament bid marks the eighth-straight for Kentucky and their tenth under head coach Cedric Kauffmann. The 2024 season is also the fourth-consecutive year in which the Wildcats are serving as a host for the opening weekend as a top-16 seed. UK was the No. 4 seed in last year’s tournament, making an appearance in the quarterfinals before falling to Virginia, 4-2.

Kentucky has gone 24-2 this season, including an undefeated record of 12-0 in conference play. Additionally, the Wildcats claimed their third SEC Tournament title in program history after defeating South Carolina, 4-2. Leading up to the tournament victory, Kentucky also clinched the outright regular season title in their last match at home. This is only the second time the program has won both the SEC regular season and tournament titles in the same season.

The Southeastern Conference will send 12 representatives to the big dance overall, the most of any conference in the nation. Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Mississippi State all earned top-16 seeds and will host the first and second rounds.
