Diving Completes NCAA Zone C Diving Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky- Kentucky Diving wrapped up the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships at the Ralph Wright Natatorium in Louisville, Kentucky on March 14-16th.

On Thursday, both freshman Kristy Pfaff and senior Claire McDaniels moved to the finals of the women’s 1-meter competition. Pfaff ended the event in 18th place, with a score of 508.45, while McDaniels placed 16th and scored 515.40. Senior Samuel Duncan competed in the men’s 3-meter and moved to the championship round, totaling a score of 679.80, and placing 13th.  

In Friday’s competition, Kristy Pfaff moved to the final round of the women’s 3-meter and scored 512.45, 17th in the event. On the men’s side, Duncan once again moved to the finals, where he scored 615.80, and placed 14th in the men’s 1-meter. 

The last event for the Wildcats was the platform, which took place on Saturday. Three UK representatives on the women’s side, McDaniels, Devynn Bishop and Abby Devereaux, moved to the championship round. McDaniels led the trio in the 15th spot, diving for a score of 437.20, followed closely by Devereaux’s 436.60 in 16th place and Bishop’s 17th place dives that scored 426.25.
