Dangerous Kennesaw State Owls Swoop into Lexington
The Kentucky baseball will play its final non-conference weekend series when tradition-filled Kennesaw State arrives in Lexington. First pitch is at 4 p.m. ET on Friday at Kentucky Proud Park, 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
All three games will stream on SECN+.
UK has dominated its non-Southeastern Conference games the past two years, fueling its success. UK is 36-5 outside the SEC since the beginning of 2023 and has won 28 of the past 30 regular season non-SEC games, including two victories over Eastern Kentucky earlier this week.
After a run-rule win on Tuesday, the Wildcats had to find a way late in the game at EKU on Wednesday. A three-run eighth inning did the trick, as the pitching once again carried the Cats. In the last 41 innings, UK pitchers have allowed four runs (just two earned) and currently rank eighth nationally in team earned run average at 2.63.
Offensively, Emilien Pitre has five straight multi-hit games and Nick Lopez knocked in a career-best three runs in both midweek games.
UK will keep its weekend rotation intact, starting righty Travis Smith on Friday, lefty Dom Niman on Saturday and righty Mason Moore on Sunday. UK currently has 11 relievers who have not yielded an earned run.
