Antonio Reeves Appears on Oscar Robertson and All-America Watch List

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky men’s basketball guard Antonio Reeves was one of 40 men’s college basketball players named to the 2024 Oscar Robertson Trophy and All-America Watch List by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. The Oscar Robertson Trophy is given annually to the National Player of the Year by the USBWA.

After member voting, the USBWA All-America Team will be announced prior to the start of the NCAA Tournament, while the Oscar Robertson Trophy recipient will be announced at the Final Four in Glendale, Arizona, April 6-8.

The USBWA National Player of the Year award dates back to 1959 and in 1998 was named in honor of the two-time recipient. Past Kentucky winners include Anthony Davis (2012) and Oscar Tshiebwe (2022).

In addition to this selection, Reeves has also been named to the Naismith Trophy Men’s College Player of the Year Midseason Team, the John R. Wooden Award Late Season Top 20 and the Jerry West Award Top 10.

The fifth-year senior has had a career-best season in 2023-24 and is currently averaging 19.9 points per game on 50.1% shooting from the field and 42.2% from behind the arc. The Chicago native has scored in double figures in every game but one this season, and he has also made a 3-pointer in 27 of 28 contests. Reeves has amassed 16 20-point games and scored a season-high 30 points in Kentucky’s win over Louisville in December. He has scored at least 20 in each of the Wildcats’ last four games, the first Kentucky player to have four-consecutive 20-point outings since P.J. Washington in February of 2019.

In two seasons in Lexington, Reeves has poured in 1,046 points. The most in a two-year span as a Wildcat is 1,213 by Bill Spivey.

Reeves and the Wildcats return to action with the first of two straight home games on Saturday. UK hosts Arkansas for a 1:30 p.m. ET tip on CBS.
