Keaton Daniel Receiving Votes on The Bowerman Watchlist

LEXINGTON, Ky. — University of Kentucky track & field pole vaulter Keaton Daniel is receiving votes on the Men’s Mid-Indoor edition of The Bowerman Watchlist by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

This is Daniel’s first career watch list appearance.

A senior from Henderson, Nevada, Daniel has won two events from four indoor meets this season and improved his indoor school record to a height of 19’0.25”/5.80 meters at the Corky Classic. The mark remains the best in DI track & field in the country and ranks 12th in the world this year.

For his outstanding performance, Daniel was named Southeastern Conference Co-Field Athlete of the Week.

The USTFCCCA announced the latest edition of a 10-person watch list Thursday and Daniel was among eight additional athletes who are also receiving votes for the watch list. The Bowerman takes into consideration both the indoor and outdoor seasons and finalists will be announced in December. Kentucky’s most recent finalist was Abby Steiner who won the award in 2022.

Daniel and the Wildcats will have their final regular season indoor competition on Friday and Saturday. The distance squad will take part in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University while the rest of the team will head to Clemson University to take part in the Tiger Paw Invite.
