The Wildcats posted five program top-ten times at their dual meet against the Louisville Cardinals last Saturday, led by sophomore Ryan Merani who won the 200 butterfly and 200 IM. In the 200 butterfly, Merani leaped to second all-time in program history, recording a brisk pace of 1:42.50. He also placed first in the 200 IM and second in the 100 fly.

On the women’s side, sophomore Grace Frericks gained a victory in the 200 backstroke for the second-straight dual meet, while Caroline Benda notched a new career-best in the 1000 freestyle with a 9:45.40, which was also good for fourth in program history.

Senior Sam Duncan won the men’s 1-meter springboard, while Abby Devereaux placed second on both springboards for the women.

The Bearcats are coming off a pair of dual meet victories over Xavier. UK and UC met last season at Cincinnati, where the Wildcat men and women both emerged victorious. Kentucky has swept 13 straight dual meets against the Bearcats dating back to the 2009-10 season.
