Team Records and Series Notes

  • Kentucky is 14-3 on the season, 4-1 in the Southeastern Conference.
  • Georgia is 13-5 overall, 3-2 in league play.
  • UK leads the series 132-28. UK leads 65-5 in games played in Lexington and has won the last 12 in Rupp Arena vs. the Bulldogs.
  • Next for Kentucky: UK begins a two-game road swing Tuesday at South Carolina. Game time is 7 p.m. and it will be televised on the SEC Network.

Team Notes

  • Kentucky scored 105 points tonight. The Wildcats entered the game leading the nation at 90.8 per game.
    • UK has scored at least 85 points in eight straight games, first time that has happened since the 2016-17.
    • This is the only team in UK history that has scored at least 81 points in 16 of its first 17 games.
    • With 105 points tonight, along with the 90 points in the win over Mississippi State, this is the second game in a row that UK has scored the most points given up by the opponent this season.
  • Kentucky shot 61.9% tonight from the field (39 of 63).
    • It is UK’s third game this season over 60%, including the Stonehill and Marshall games.
    • It is UK’s ninth game this season shooting at least 50 percent and the Wildcats have won all nine.
  • UK shot 56% on 3-pointers, second-best of the season behind Marshall game (59.3%).
    • The Wildcats entered the game 11th in the nation at 39.3%.

  • UK won the rebounding, 31-29. The Wildcats are 9-0 this season when winning or tying the boardwork.
  • UK had 27 assists with 14 turnovers, a +1.93 ratio. UK entered the game fourth in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio at +1.89.
  • Kentucky led by as many as 28 points. The Wildcats are 341-15 (95.8%) in the Calipari era when leading by as many as 10 points during the contest.
  • Five Wildcats scored in double figures, ninth time this season that has happened.
  • This is the third time in UK history that three 7-footers have scored in the same game. Shagari Alleyne, Jared Carter and Lukasz Obrzut scored in the same game twice in the 2005-06 season and it was accomplished tonight by Aaron Bradshaw, Ugonna Onyenso and Zvonimir Ivisic.

Player Notes

  • Tre Mitchell poured in a season-high 23 points.
  • Antonio Reeves had 21 points, his ninth 20-point game of the season.
    • He has landed in double figures in every game but one this season.
    • He also tied for the team lead in rebounds with five.
  • D.J. Wagner had his first collegiate double-double with 18 points and a season-best 10 assists.
  • Reed Sheppard had 12 points, five assists and two steals.
  • Playing 16 minutes in his first game as a Wildcat, Zvonimir Ivisic totaled 13 points, tied for the team high in rebounds (5), had a team-best three blocked shots, and added two assists and two steals. He also had a team-best plus/minus of +14.

 

Coach John Calipari

  • Calipari has an 846-256 (76.8%) all-time on-court record, including 401-116 (77.6%) at Kentucky.
  • Calipari is 330-66 (83.3%) at UK against unranked competition.
  • Calipari is 22-4 vs. Georgia.
  • Calipari is now 397-127 (75.8%) all-time in conference games, including 189-61 (75.6%) in the SEC.

 

In the First Half

  • Kentucky started D.J. Wagner, Antonio Reeves, Justin Edwards, Tre Mitchell and Aaron Bradshaw for the eighth game in a row. UK is 7-1 in this lineup.
  • Rob Dillingham and Reed Sheppard were UK’s first substitutions at the 16:37 mark.
  • Zvonimir Ivisic made his first Kentucky appearance at the 16:00 mark.
  • Trailing 10-8, a drive-and-dunk by Reeves, followed by a Reeves fast break layup-and-one, gave UK a 13-10 lead and the Wildcats never trailed again.
    • The streak continued with a 3-pointer from Shepherd, followed by an Ivisic behind-the-back fast break pass to Reeves for another 3-pointer, capping an 11-0 run that made it 19-8.
  • Georgia closed within 28-22 but the Wildcats erupted for a 13-2 run that featured 11 points from Ivisic, including a trio of 3-pointers, for a 41-24 advantage.
  • UK led by 20 at 54-34 and a Georgia foul shot made it 54-35 at intermission.
    • 54 points is the most for UK in the first half against an SEC opponent since 2016.
    • UK shot 64.5% in the half, including 58.3% on 3-pointers, and 87.5% free throws.
    • Reeves led the Cats with 14 points and Ivisic had 11, making all four of his shots.
  • UK is now 13-1 this season when leading at halftime.

 

In the Second Half

  • Kentucky began the second half with the starting lineup.
  • Ahead 68-51, a 10-0 run gave UK a 27-point lead at 78-51.
  • The Wildcats led by as many as 28 points at 96-68.
  • Kentucky reached the 100-point mark on a dunk by Ivisic at the 4:47 mark. It is UK’s third 100-point game of the season.
