Wildcats Represented in ITA Regional Year-End Rankings

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky women’s tennis completes the 2022-23 season regionally-ranked third overall with individual Wildcats also honored in the Top-20 Singles and Top-10 Doubles Ohio Valley Regional Year-End Rankings, the ITA announced on Friday.

Finishing third overall for the region behind No. 1 Tennessee and No. 2 Vanderbilt, Kentucky completed the season 12-13 and 4-9 in the Southeastern Conference. The season slate featured victories over Mississippi State, Florida and South Carolina in the second round of the SEC Tournament.

In addition to team success, two Wildcats were listed in the Top-20 Singles rankings. Senior Florencia Urrutia was ranked No. 4 in the region, finishing her fourth year on the court as No. 42 nationally. She was 22-14 at the conclusion of the season. Teammate Elizabeth Stevens also found herself in the top of the region ranked No. 13. The junior saw her highest national ranking of the season at No. 118 with a 10-10 record.

In the Top-10 Doubles rankings, the dynamic pair of Carlota Molina and Stevens finished the season in the No. 1 spot for the Ohio Valley. The pair was consistently ranked nationally throughout the year finishing at No. 16 with a 16-7 record.
