Kentucky Gymnastics Travels to Georgia on Friday

LEXINGTON, Ky. – No. 9 Kentucky gymnastics will travel to the University of Georgia where it will take on the Bulldogs Friday for a 7 p.m. EST meet at Stegeman Coliseum.

The Wildcats are coming off its first home meet victory of the 2023 slate over conference rival No. 13 LSU. UK defeated the Tigers 197.125-196.575 in Rupp Arena with 10,558 members of Big Blue Nation in attendance.

Multiple Kentucky gymnasts set new career records or matched their current all-time bests in the competition. Isabella Magnelli shined on vault while Kaitlin DeGuzman and Shealyn Luksik made statements on the uneven bars. Arianna Patterson and Raena Worley executed their balance beam routines beautifully while both Hailey Davis and Worley rocked the house on the floor exercise.

Kentucky and Georgia last met in the 2022 season in Lexington for a quad meet with Illinois and Central Michigan. The Cats came out on top with a final meet score of 197.450.

The Wildcats will be back in Lexington Jan. 27 for its first home meet in Memorial Coliseum of 2023. They will host No. 11 Alabama for a 7:30 p.m. EST meet. Single-meet tickets to all five Kentucky gymnastics home meets are now on sale through the UK Athletics Ticket Office. UK students may attend meets for free following the presentation of a valid UK Student ID upon entry.
