14 Wildcats Named to WCGA All-America Scholar-Athlete Team

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) announced its 2022 All-America Scholar Athlete team Wednesday afternoon. There were 14 Kentucky Wildcats that were presented with the honor, which is the highest number of honorees in the Southeastern Conference.

Overall, there were 53 teams in the NCAA with a team grade point average of 3.5 or more on a 4.0 scale. There were 228 (14.53%) student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA, and a record number of gymnasts – 1,077 (68.84% of all reporting gymnasts) with a 3.5 or better GPA, the most reported since 2008.

This is the second year in a row where more than 1,000 scholastic all-America team members were awarded. The University of Kentucky Women’s Academic Team of the Year has had student-athletes presented with this honor consecutively.
