Kentucky Baseball Hosts Top-Ranked Tennessee

by UK Athletics Communications and PR

Kentucky will face a top-ranked opponent for the first time since beating Florida in 2018 when the No. 1 Tennessee Volunteers arrive at Kentucky Proud Park for a series that opens Thursday night.

Thursday night’s first pitch will be at 7 p.m. ET on the SEC Network in a nationally featured game.

The Wildcats (24-20, 7-14) hosted the No. 1 Gators at Cliff Hagan Stadium in 2018, winning the final game of the three-game series in a herculean effort by starting pitcher Justin Lewis. Tennessee comes into the weekend as the unanimous No. 1 sitting on a 41-4 overall record and 19-2 mark in league play.

UK junior Ryan Ritter needs one hit to join the career 100 Hit Club and graduate senior Adam Fogel’s 67 doubles sits just two behind the Division I active leader for career doubles.
