Kyndal Knight Named SEC Female Co-Diver of the Week
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following the No. 12 University of Kentucky swimming and diving team’s convincing victory at home last week, diver Kyndal Knight has been recognized by the Southeastern Conference for her standout performance on the boards. This is the fifth such honor of her career.
A native of Stanley, North Carolina, Knight was named the league’s female co-diver of the week after posting a pair of victories over Ohio on Oct. 15. She took the top spot on the 1-meter (299.10) and 3-meter (361.50), achieving the zone qualifying standard on both boards.
Knight’s impressive score of 361.50 on the 3-meter bested the field by 43 points en route to setting a new career high. Her previous personal best was 355.58 set at Alabama on Dec. 18, 2020, which ironically was the last time she was named the SEC Female Diver of the Week.
The senior co-captain also led a Wildcat sweep on all disciplines against the Bobcats, as Morgan Southall and Abby Devereaux finished second and third, respectively, on both boards.
Both the Wildcat men’s and women’s teams are back in action for a two-day competition against Auburn and NC State on Oct. 22-23. The tri-meet will take place at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center in Auburn, Alabama.
